ASEAN Center for Biodiverslty (ACB) tried to save the dature from destruction whether it caused by natural or human factor. Rolando A. Inciong, the Head of Public Relation of ACB said “the department will map the biodiversity in land and sea in order to solve the problems faced recently.”
Rolando talked in the Expert Meeting on Marin GAP Analysis for the Philipines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam which was held in Kuta on Tuesday, November 4th 2008. “The meeting focused on sea biodiversity and teir problems, so there is great hope that the meeting will produce solution to anticipate the danger threaten the sea creature,” added Rolando.
Meanwhile Andi Rusnadi, Indonesian representative, said that the perservation of sea biodiversity in Indonesia targeted 10 milion hectares in 2010. “Currently, the area preserved by Indoensian Sea and Fishery Department were already 8.8 million hectares,” added Rusnadi.
The rest will be conducted by the government along with the NGOs that concern with the issue. The government will announce the result in 2010. The meeting will be held for three days until November 7th 2008.
