Bali non-oil and gas exports to Southeast Asia increase 52% in January through September 2008 period. The total number of export on that period was $10.9 million, an increase compared to $7.2 million in the same period last year.

Ngurah Suteja, the head of Bali Trade and Industry Department said that the increase was because the promotion conducted by Bali businessmen to those countries. Thailand was the highest customer of Bali handicraft, fishery, and farming products. Thailand imported $5.2 million of Bali products within the mentioned period.

In the second spot was Malaysia which bought $3.5 million of Bali products. The number of export to Malaysia has been quite stable in the past few years. In 2007 the number of export was $2.9 million.
Singapore as one of the famous tourist destination imported $1.6 million, increased 9% compared to last year which was only $1.4 million. Only those three Southeast Asian countries bought Bali products in millions whilst the rest such as Vietnam, Philipine, Cambodia, and Laos only imported in a few hundred thousand dollars of Bali products.

The import increase 111% compared to the same period last year which was $2.4 million.
