Toru Maruyana, a Japanese tourist, was arrested by the police on Tuesday, November 11th 2008 because posessing 7.9 grams of marijuana. When the police searched him, the officers found the illegal drug in his pocket wrapped in a small plastic bag.
Sri Harmiti, the spokesman of Bali Police Department said that the suspect arrived in Bali on October 30th 2008 and was arrested in front of a mini market in Hang Tuah Street in Sanur.
As ussual, Toru denied alleged as a drug owner but after the police searcehd him and found the evidence, Toru could not resist anymore and then arrested by the police officers. From preliminary investigation, the suspect said that he bought the marijuana from someone in Sanur beach.
Th marijuana was bought for 400,000 rupiah and Toru had smoked several grams an the rest was confiscated by the police officers as evidence. Bali Police Department spread many officers in Sanur in order to cactch the drug dealer, while the suspect currently in the custody of Bali Police Department for further investigation.
