Approximately 800 people representing kingdoms form all around Indonesia took part in cultural parade which was held on Jalan Veteran, Wednesday November 26th. A.A. Gde Agung, Chairman of the event’s organizing committee said that the parade was intended to conserve Indonesian tradition and culture. “We also want to promote Bali and to prove that Bali is a safe place,” said Agung. The parade involved by 21 groups representing 118 kingdoms gathered in The Communication Forum of Indonesian Kingdoms.

The parade started by group from Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat of East Java in their traditional outfit, followed by Keraton Surakata from the same city with their traditional military outfit completed with their weapons of sword and keris (Javanese traditional sword). Other groups include Kesultanan Deli, Lembaga Adat Minangkabau, and Kesultanan Siak Indrapura, Kesultanan Bulungan of East Borneo, Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam, and the Kingdom of Tallo. A number of kings from Sulawesi, South Sumatra, Lesser Sunda Islands, Solo, Bali, Bugis, Deli, Lombok, and Kutai also attended the event.

The parade was also to commemorate the first South East Asia Royal Culture Heritage (SEARCH) in Denpasar. SEARCH will be opened on Thursday, November 27th 2008 in Art Center Denpasar. The event will be filled with many activities such as fashion show, art performance, and cultural discussion. Manu countries too part in the event such as Singapore, Malaysia, Philipines, Thailand, Cambodia, Japan, South Korea, Netherland, France, Germany, and Saudi Arabia.
