The expansion of Ngurah Rai Airport will be conducted in 2009 and it will increase the quality of service given to the passengers. Heru Legowo, the General Manager of Angkasa Pura I Bandara I Gusti Ngurah Rai, said that the draft to expand the domestic terminal was finished but sill discussed with the Badung Government and other departments.
“We hope there will be suggestions to the draft so we can improve it and make it ready before the presentation in front of the board,” added Legowo, Currently, the domestic terminal only can accommodate 13,000 people and will be expanded so it can accommodate up to 70,000 people. The development will be finished in 2012 and will cost approximately 900 billion rupiah.
Legowo explained “we also will be built special pathway fro the passengers started on the east entrance. The path will be similar with the terminal F in Cengkareng International Airport.
The development of Ngurah Rai Airport will be done continuously in order to improve the equipments and service in the airport. There is great hope that the airport will become one of the best airports in Indonesia.
