Hindus all over the world supported the rejection of the new bill on pornography by the Hindus in Bali. IGN Arya Vedakarna, one of Hindus youth, said “Tenth of Hindus all around the world put their signature as a sign to reject the bill.” The agreement was done by the Hindus in London during the Green Park Meeting (GPM). They reject the bill because it against the value of human race. “Me agreement will be enclosed in the draft for the judicial review to the Constitution Court,” added Arya.
Countries who rejected the bill were USA, England, India Sri Lanka, Suriname, Holland, and Nepal. In the GPM, Indonesian delegates applied to problem of pornography bill in Indonesia to be discussed in the international forum.
In the discussion, most of the participants rejected the bill and supported the Indonesian people who worked hard to reject the pornography bill. The Hindus also agreed that diplomatic persuasion will be done in order to reject the bill. Arya said “We all agree that we will not use any violence in fighting the bill but we will use diplomacy to erase it.”
Meanwhile, IG Ngurah Harta, the coordinator of Bali’s People Components (KRB) said that he will also apply for judicial review to the bill. “The draft is still being organized and after it is done, we will send it to the Constitution Court.” added Harta.
There is great hope that by applying for the judicial review, the pornography bill will be canceled or at least revised in order to change the discriminative rules. In applying for the judicial review, KRB appointed a team of advocate lead by Dewa Palguna who was a former judge in the Constitution Court.
