Usually Kuta beach was crowded with domestic and foreign tourists. But las weekend there were only a few tourists seen on the beach. In addition to bad weather, pile of garbage around the beach also made people reluctant to go to the beach.
However, some tourists admitted that they did not mind with the situation because of the rainy season. One of them was Brian, a foreign tourist originating from Australia. He said that he used to the bad weather especially when he came to Bali on January. “It is the nature on every rainy season, so I do not mind,” he added.
The strong wind actually a gift for Brian and his friends because they can enjoy high waves to surf on the beach. On the other hand, Dwain, tourist from England, said that he was very annoyed with the weather. “I came here to sunbathe but I did not see any sun in the last few days,” said Dwain.
According to the head of Kuta’s officer Ngurah Agung Tresna, rain also gives positive effects because it can reduce the sand and dust around the beach. Sand and dust usually fly away when strong wind happened in Kuta and it is very dangerous for the motorcycle.
Kuta officers also worked hard in handling the garbage in the beach. Garbage trucks had travel back and forth to transport the garbage an still piled up. Waves had washed away the garbage to shore.
