Bali Police Department is working together with fishermen from all around Bali in order to raise the security level with the hope of preventing terrorists from entering Bali. Oka C Eswara, the Director of Bali Marine Police, said “Currently there are 11,000 fishermen throughout Bali who are joining forces with the local Police Department to secure every inch of Bali’s coastal area”.

Oka added that the fishermen will take part in preventing and detecting any security problems including the illegal entrance by terrorist. “Me fishermen will immediately report to the nearest police department if they come across something suspicious in their area.”

Gde Sugianyar, the spokesmen of Bali’s Police Department, said that the fishermen have been trained and they are fully prepared to take on their new duties. The fishermen were also trained to identify dangerous materials including explosives.

The police department is equipped with the photographs of the most wanted fugitives, such as the head of a terrorist group, Noordin M Top. The police department has also dispersed thousands of officers around Bali in order to further anticipate any security problems that may occur.
