Denpasar – Denpasar has sent 263 workers abroad for study in the business of cruise ships and tourism, and their number is the highest compared to those sent from other regencies in the island paradise and together they reached 1,029 people.
Badung regency ranks second with 165 people, followed by tabanan 142 people, head of the Bali provincial workers placement and expansion office, Anak Agung Putra Adhi, said.
He said that Buleleng regency sent 128 people, including 12 women, Gianyar regency sent 110, Jembrana 50, Klungkung 70, Karangasem 62, and Bangli 39 people.
The dispatch of Balinese skilled workers in the first quarter of this year comprised 886 men and 143 women.
Agung Putra said most of them chose working on cruise ships, followed by hotels and restaurants in 30 different countries.
“The Balinese workers will be employed on the basis of eight month work contracts, which can be extended,” Agung Anom said.
