The 31st annual Bali Art Festival (BAF) which is being held in art center Denpasar, will be halted during the Presidential Election. The Election will be held on Wednesday, July 8th 2009.
I Made Santha, the head of Art division in bali Cultural Department, said “during the election day, the performance from the morning until the afternoon will be delayed. The schedule will be arranged according to the election schedule.”
By delaying the performance, there is great hope that all of the people will give their vote in the election. The performances will be carried out at night. There will be three performances in three different stages on that day.
The performances are adnces and music from Terang Bulan art group from Japan in Ksiarnawa, Sanghyang Jaran performance by art group from Tusan Banjarangkan village, Klungkung in front of Kriya building, and gong kebyar parade in Ardha Candra open stage.
Made Santha said that even if there will be no performance during the day but the exhibition will still open. The employee will give their vote in shifts in order to be able to guard their stand.
