The 31st Bali Art Festival (PKB) featuring at least 50 art performances opened by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on June 13, ended on July 11, a spokesman said.
“The closing ceremony of the annual arts event was conducted by Bali Governor, Made Mangku Pastika at the Ardha Candra cultural park in Denpasar,” head of arts division of the Bali Provincial cultural office, I Made Santha said.
The closing ceremony was marked with the presentation of prizes in various competitions which enlivened the arts event.
The competition is one of the PKB’s five agendas. The other four activities included the parade of culture and the small-scale industrial products exhibition.
The closing event was also enlivened with a colossal dance performance entitled “Sri Tanjung”.
Transactions during the exhibition reached Rp12.6 billion, santha said, adding that around 14,000 artists from bali, 12 other provinces and eight countries took part in the event.
The Bali provincial administration has been organizing BAF annually since 1979 to promote arts reflecting the daily condition of the local people.
