Bali’s Governor, Made Mangku Pastika, said that it is very difficult to prevent swine flu from enetering Bali. “It is difficult because Bali is famous tourists destination visited by many tourists throughout the world,” he added.
Bali’s government had conduct maximal efforts to prevent the virus from entering Bali. Almost every entrance to Bali had been tightly guarded, including Ngurah rai airport which equipped with thermal scanner. The tourists entering Bali also spryed with anti virus liquid in the international airport.
In addition to those efforts, the proper treatment to the tourist suspected of suffering from the virus also will be done. There I great hope that the spread of the virus can be decreased and doesn’t effected the locals. Until today, there was no Balinese infected with the swine flu.
Sanglah hospital Denpasar predicted that the victims of swine flu will keep increasing because there were several patients being treated in the hospital. Four patients had been infected with the virus; they are Bobie Masoner, England citizen lived in Australia, James Antonucciu and Tayla Mario, both from Australia.
Masoner and Colmant had healed from the disease and can return to their home. While Antonucciu and Mario are still treated intensively in the isolation rooms along with four other swine flu suspects, Gerry O Brian, Brian Ariel, Ryan Woods and Arron Michael. The patients showed symptoms similar with the swine flu disease.
Agus Somia, the head of Swine Flu Handling team, said “there is a possibility that the patients suffered from sine flu but we still wait for test results from health department laboratory in Jakarta.” Four patients had been positively infected from the virus and all of them came from Australia.
