The hotel occupancy rate for star hotels in Bali on July 2009 was 61.50%. The number decreased compared to June 2009 which was 62.77%. Ida Komang Wisnu, the head of Bali Statistics Department, said “the occupancy rate strongly related with the number of tourists visited Bali.”
He said that the average stay for foreign tourists in Bali were 3.63 days. The number increased compared the previous month whist was 3.54 days. The increase affected the hotel occupancy in Bali.
Wisnu said that the highest hotel occupancy rate was in Denpasar area. The hotel occupancy rate in Denpasar was 72%. The number increased greatly from the previous month which was 56%.
In Badung regency, the hotel occupancy rate was 60%, decreased from the previous month which was 68%. In Karangasem the hotel occupancy rate was 57% while in Tabanan was 58% and in Gianyar was 56%.
