Joop Ave, the former Indonesian Tourism, Posts, and Telecommunication Minister, said that in order to tourism to last in Bali, the people must conserve the environment.
“In addition to preserving the sulture, the beautiful nature of Bali is laso one of the tourism attractions,” he added. Joop Ave took part in the opening of Nusa Dua Fiesta, (NDF) 2009 in Nusa Dua on Saturday, October 17th 2009. Joop Ave said “I hope that the people of Bali to conserve the nature including the sea ecosystem in order to develop tourism.”
NDF which themed “Green Tourism” and sub theme “Conserving the Sea and Coastal area” is the form of the commitment of the people in Bali to make the island as the main tourism destination in the world.
“The event made us concern about the sea ecosystem because Bali has beautiful sea view. The exotis coral reefs attract tourists to visit the island. Many of them dive and snorkel on the sea of Bali,” he said.
The sea biota also could help in reducing the pollution because the sea creatures could gasp the dangerous gases. The opening ceremony of NDF 2009 was also attended by government officers and marked by plating artificial coral reefs.
While the head of Bali Tourism Development Corporation (BTDC), I mde Mandra, said that various activities will be done during the NDF 2009 which will be carried out for five days.
Competitions, exhibitions, and many stand were opened in order to promote the product sof Indonesia to the tourists. “We would like to promote Bali with all of its uniqueness and facilities,” he said.
