Bali Government wanted the movie “Eat, Pray, Love” to enclose the word peace in one of the scene. The movie which is being shooting in Bali is stared by Julia Roberts.
Ida Bagus Sedawa, the head of Bali Cultural Department, said that Elizabert Gilbert who wrote the book not only discovered “love” in Bali but also found peace. “A short word of peace has an enormous meaning to Bali and the tourism world,” he added.
The government especially the governor wanted that the peace message placed in the end of the movie. Bali as the island of paradise can bring peace to anyone who came to the island.
There is great hope that the message will give better image to Bali. Sedawa said that the movie also mentioned that the life concept of the Balinese shifted from the old kind, patient, and friendly attitude become more materialistic. It is because the effect of tourism business in Bali. Now, most of the Balinese see the foreigners as tourists that can give them profit.
Sedawa is arranging a meting between Bali’s Governor, I Made Mangku Pastika and the star of “Eat, Pray, Love” Julia Roberts. A banquet will be held in order to increase the friendship of both parties. There is great hope by thet event, they will stay longer in Bali.
