Having successfully accomplished the organization of Gajah Mada Town Festival 2008, at this year end 2009, Denpasar City Government will hold again the same event with the title Denpasar Festival II. Thus, the Assistant II of Development Administration, IGN Eddy Mulya, last Monday (Dec 21), revealed when chairing the press conference at Bumbu Desa Restaurant at Renon, Denpasar.
Eddy Mulya accompanied by the Head of Denpasar Government Tourism Office, Putu Budhiasa, the Head of Denpasar Industry and Trade Services, Wayan Gatra and Putu Gede Suwitra as event organizer explained further that as a year end festivity opened to public, Denpasar festival would present the richness of art and culture as well as economic activities being familiar with Denpasar City. It would be highlighted into the theme “Welcoming the Brilliant Future.” This theme was intended as an affirmation of behavior and exclamation that even through Denpasar was open, it was selective and adaptive toward the development of time. Similarly, it had confidence that th entire potency and cultural heritage merged into art, culture and creativity posed the values becoming the basic assets to step further into a better future.
Besides, the festival was the manifestation of the spirit of Denpasar to make itself a Creative City Based on Superior Culture. Eddy Mulya also explained that the festival organized around Jalan Gajah Mada would take place from December 28 through 31, 2009 involving hundreds of vendors from various kinds of products aside from presenting modern and traditional art performances, he said.
Meanwhile, the head of Denpasar Government Tourism Office highly expected all media both electronic and print media to help the organization the event in the form of broadcast, publication or inputs. Then, the Head of Denpasar Industry and Trade also expected the participation of all media, committee and community to make the event successful. It involved almost a hundred of participants from all nooks and crannies of denpasar City, comprising the vendor, figure, artist, humanist, scientist, academician, expert, teacher, student or others. Having heard the explanation in details from the event organizer, the press conference was resumed with question-answer session.
