Near Christmas and New Year 2010, the hotel occupancy rate in Ubud increase up to 7%. Dewa Gede Putra Arimbawa, the head of Gianyar Hotels and restaurants Association (PHRI), said that the previous month, the hotel occupancy rate in the area was only 63% but now already 70% or 08%.
“Currently, most of the 250 hotels in Ubud are almost fully booked. There is great hope that the condition will remain stable until December,” he added.
Arimbawa who also owned Hotel Pertiwi in Ubud, is still very optimist that the hotel occupancy rate will be stable until New Year. The similar statement also said by I Wayan Roja, the owner of Home Stay Roja’s.
“Our hoe stay is 70% booked by the tourists. The number will increase by the end of the year, it happened every year,” he added.
