Bali is preparing to become the host of international film festival which will be joined by hundreds of countries. I Made Santha, the head of Art Division in Bali Cultural Department, said “Bali is preparing everything early in order to be able to held the festival as good as possible. The festival will be held in 2012.”
He said that the preparation including in the 32nd Bali Art Festival (PKB) in June, and also preparing a documentary film about Bali.
The department also will hold documentary film festival which is open for government institution or personal company in Bali. The documenter will be 15 through 30 minutes long about the culture of Bali.
Santha said that many efforts had been done in order to develop movie production in Bali. There is great hope that movies from Bali could joined in the international festival. Bali as a famous tourism destination has very unique culture and panorama which is very good to create movie. A movie entitled “Eat Pray Love” stared by Julia Roberts was successfully shot in Bali. The situation could attract other movie industry in Bali.
