Buleleng locals on Umanis Kuningan day (12/2) filled beaches in North Bali. The locals were coming with their family with their own food so beach traders were usually deserted. Buleleng locals appeared filling Lovina Beach in Kalibukbuk Village and Penimbangan Beach in Bhaktiseraga Village Singaraja. The locals were coming with motor cycles or private cars. In these beaches, locals were holding tourism activity such as swimming or canoeing. Some people were fishing to spend their holiday there.
A coordinator of canoe and inner tube rental in this beach Mr Kadek, Penimbangan beach is quite interesting and it is being a major destination of locals. Though the beach is not as beautiful as Kuta Beach, locals and tourists were spending their leisure times in Penimbangan. “Feast day is attracting more visitors rather than usual days,” said him.
Mr Kaded added though visitors were crowded but there were only few people who bought foods. It is happened due to each visitor has brought their own food so visitors were only bought drinks and snacks. Besides local people rented canoe or inner tube to enjoy the beach. A set of canoe is completed with safety jacket as it priced Rp10,000. In the other side the rented inner tube priced Rp5,000 per piece. “My outcome is coming from canoe and inner tube. The food is not sold much due to visitors were usually brought their own food,” said him.
The same condition is also appeared in Lovina Beach. Visitors were also filled this beach since morning until yesterday noon. The visitors were coming from any villages in Buleleng to sit around the beach. Sometimes visitors were brought snacks or drinks from beach traders while souvenir traders in this area were not earn anything from them. Fortunately the coming of foreigners were bringing some profits for the traders,” said a souvenir trader in Lovina, Kadek Sariasih.
